The Women’s Homestead Society is excited to announce its first homesteading women’s retreat!

Join us in Nunnelly, TN, September 6th – 8th for a weekend of encouragement and inspiration. We all have had moments when we ask ourselves why we are choosing to grow a garden full of weeds or raise the animals who have escaped again. Maybe you feel like an oddball and struggle to find your community. At the Women’s Homestead Society ‘Getaway,’ you’ll find inspiring speakers and teachers to learn from and be surrounded by like-minded homesteading women to connect with. The weekend will be full of farm fresh food, learning, and one-on-one time in the beautiful communal venue! Join us and fill your cup while we equip you with the tools and the inspiration you need to keep going!

Five Star Retreat is an upscale retreat center outside Nashville, TN, boasting 430 acres of Tennessee’s most beautiful rolling hills, a large lake, and three scenic creeks. With space to slow down and enjoy nature with 20 miles of marked trails, canoeing, or kayaking on the lake or fishing in the creeks, this space is a private haven and a wonderful backdrop for the retreat!

When selecting the venue, we intentionally sought a property that allowed the attendees and speakers to gather comfortably. The space within the venue allows you to glean knowledge from the speakers and other homesteading women. We know you will enjoy mingling casually with like-minded women and gathering as friends do!

Serenity Tuckey is a wife, mother, farmer, gardener and most important to her a child of a kind, loving Heavenly Father. She has been married to her husband for almost 20 years and raised 3 wonderful children, and now enjoys her first grandchild. Serenity has been homeschooling her two younger children for the last 8 years. She has been gardening and preserving for the last 15 years and loves stocking her pantry. She has found a new passion for making cheese from the nutritious milk her Jersey cows provide their family.

She has run a successful direct sale business and along with her husband built another successful business in the last 3 years. No stranger to hard work, Serenity found a passion in sharing with women how to balance their lives as wives, mothers and entrepreneurs, staying rooted in the Lord while cheering them on as they shoot for the stars.

Serenity came to know the Lord in her twenties and that changed her whole life. As she has grown in her faith, she share that passion with others leading classes, facilitating Bible studies and speaking at women’s conferences. She loves encouraging women to see the full potential in who God designed them to be. Her favorite thing is to pray with someone not just for them.

Cabin Details

Five Star Retreat Center has 5 cabin rentails on the property ranging in size & accommodation. They charge $750 per cabin for the weekend no matter the size. The cabin options are listed below. Please reach out to us as soon as possible to book a cabin as they will go fast! Reach out to us at womenshomesteadsociety@gmail.com.

Cabin One

Cabin 1 is a secluded rustic log cabin, overlooking Big Spring Creek and its scenic bluffs. Cabin 1 is perfect for families, or for more seclusion — away from the traffic of the other cabins and the Lodge.

The rustic finishes of this cabin, combined with its log furniture and cozy fireplace, will make you feel like you’re miles away from the nearest neighbor.

Cabin Two

Cabin 2 is perfect for smaller families or groups not needing to sleep more than a few people. It is nestled into the woods near a deer feeder, so you can see plenty of wildlife right from your window every day.

This cabin is also steps away from the pool and the Lodge.

Cabin Three

Our most popular rental cabin, this cabin is centrally located next to the Lodge and pool, and across the road from the lake. The large open loft provides extra sleeping and entertainment capacity for up to 10 people.

In the loft, there are additional beds, a table for puzzles or cards, and a foosball table.

This cabin is also just a few feet away from a deer feeder, where deer, turkey, and a variety of wildlife come to feed every morning and afternoon.

Cabin Five

We call Cabin 5 “the bunkhouse”, but it also has two king bedrooms, in addition to the six bunks in the large living area.

There is a pool table in the living room, and this cabin also has a large deck overlooking the wedding lawn near Cabin 1.

Note: This cabin has a small fridge and microwave, but it does not have a full kitchen

Copperhead Barndo

Our new “barndominium” is located on Copperhead Road, approximately one mile past the Five Star Retreat main entrance.

Separate from the “Five Star Rustic” decor of the rest of the retreat, the Barndo is designed more like a modern apartment, and has a large open living area, plenty of space in the kitchen, and lots of parking outside.

It is located on the first level of a large agricultural and equipment storage building, underneath the private Copperhead Pub.
